REMINDERS
- Progress Reports should NOT be sent home at the end of the year. The only printing you need to do is for the student's file here at school. As noted earlier, this year they are only available via the backpack unless a parent had previously requested.
- Moving up day was moved to 6/24 at 9:15 am. This is a half day. We are aiming to send placement letters home June 12.
- Supply lists should not exceed 25 dollars in value. Before you hand in your supply list, please review this and ensure your list is not over.

PYP Exhibition is a time for kids to demonstrate what agency means. It's a chance to take action, to demonstrate their growth as learners and people, and a chance to celebrate. Getting students ready for today is a team effort; although intermediate teachers, mentors, and Andrea play a large hand in ensuring that the students are ready to shine, we all had a hand in getting our students to this culminating moment.
Thank you so much for your efforts. Thank you for letting kids have voice and agency over their own learning. Thank you for letter students be our center. Enjoy the fruits of all of our labor.

Need-to-Know and Reminders
- On 5/14, I will have a lady named Natalie shadowing me for the day. Natalie is an administrator from Greece (Assistant Principal) that has a requirement to shadow two administrators per her mentoring requirements. She will be joining us for the day. Please join me in making her feel at home.
- Just a reminder that supply lists should not exceed $25. This was first requested across the district across a few years back, however, I was not made aware of this expectation until after supply lists went out last year. Please be sure to check the numbers. In addition, we should not be asking for Clorox Wipes as those are not permitted for use with kids. If you would like cleaner for your room, Mike can provide you with an approved cleaner and spray bottle.

Exhibition: From Gunnar
My name is Gunnar and my Exhibition topic is electric cars. I was interested in electric cars because I wanted to know how they worked and the benefits of owning an electric car.
I would like to persuade you to think about purchasing an electric car the next time you need a new car. There are many benefits of electric cars. The first benefit of an electric car is that it takes less money to charge a battery than it does to fill up your gas tank if you owned a gas powered vehicle. The second benefit is that there are public charging stations that you do not have to pay for. The third benefit is that electric vehicles do not put out nearly as much pollution as gas vehicles. A fourth beneficial factor is that electric cars have less maintenance costs than traditional gas vehicles. These are just a few of the many benefits that comes with purchasing an electric car.
I hope the next time you need to purchase a new vehicle, you will consider the benefits of owning an electric car over owning a traditional gas vehicle. If you purchase an electric car, you will be saving money and helping the environment at the same time, which is a win-win situation for everyone.

QUEST Problem Solvers
As our kids tackled the exam this week, I couldn't help but wonder about their ability to think and problem solve. It is crucial to teach content, but likely even more crucial to teach kids how to think so that they can apply content to new situations and problems. Above is a picture of the problem solving process we launched this summer filled out--thanks to Chris for this. I'd encourage you to review it and consider the ways in which your students are problem solvers.
Do they:
-Work to understand a problem?
-Are they able to make a plan?
Do they carry out a plan and look back?
-Can they fluidly adapt a plan or abort a plan when they find something is off?
-Do they check for reasonableness?
We have a charge to create thinkers, and I am grateful for all your efforts this year to ensure that our students are fluid problem solvers in math and in ALL areas. The process they take is equally, if not more, important than the end product, so continue to push thinking above all else. WE are QUEST!
