We have an amazing challenge for you that will make a significant impact on your students.

March 6^th is the National Day of Unplugging.  It is a national digital detox day.

We challenge you to unplug yourself and your classroom for this day.  No smartboards, computers, chromebooks, cell phones.  Back to basics…

We have many conversations about the amount of screen time children now engage in.  This is a powerful way to show that we CAN live without this technology.

We will do a drawing for a prize (pizza lunch) from the classrooms and teachers that participate.

Reminders

• PBIS is instituting some new "celebration structures" into  the lunch room starting after break. Stay tuned for more, but please be sure to high-five your PBIS reps. for helping us to look at school-wide systems of support.
• Our students have had better hallway behavior lately, and this was noted in PBIS. Thank you for pushing our students to be leaders and for being respectful of those engaged in their learning as they walk by. 
• If you are required to submit data into E-doctrina, please make sure you are up-to-date prior to leaving for break. If you need support, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Need-to-Know

• Next Tuesday morning we will have a CIA. There will be three options. We will start at 7:45 in the BOE room, and then you can move to which option you prefer. 
• Classroom teachers: We've lacked clarity regarding what is allowed with portfolio share,  and we work in a time where we must foster self-care. At the union meeting Shana shared the increased options for sharing portfolios with parents. Next week I will be reaching out to teams to offer a quick stand-up, hallway meeting with grade-level teams that are impacted so that we can review together. If you have questions please attend. This will also be communicated out to parents via the Q and A in February.
• The 100th day of school, Cadet Connect, and Valentine's Day all fall on next Friday. Have some fun! 

Quest Graduation FYI

Graduation is officially June 23rd at 1:30 this year. This is the last full day with kids, and following this day will be two half days.
