Below is a visual for our concept based strategy for this week:

Students returning to PE/recess after testing positive for COVID-19.

The American Academy of Pediatrics updated their guidance for students returning to PE/recess after testing positive for COVID-19. 

Since returning from break, all students diagnosed with COVID should have clearance by their primary care provider before returning to PE/recess. The student should then undergo and gradual return to play process. Their doctor should be encouraging parents to monitor at home for symptoms that may be concerning. If you have a student that complains of chest pain, shortness of breath with minimal activity, abnormal heartbeat, or extreme dizziness with activity, please call me and have them walked to the health office to be assessed. The effect on activity is different for everyone. It can take time for individuals to return to their baseline activity level. 

This is not retroactive for students previously diagnosed prior to break. If you have a student restricted from PE, you have been notified. I will try my best to email you once they are cleared.

Tomorrow, December 19th, concludes QUEST's 25 Days of Joy! We hope we inspired many of you to take action and make the lives better of those surrounding us. If your family participated, please post your photos(s) here to the "QUEST 25 Days of Joy Padlet" OR email them directly to Andrea Geglia or Val McCormick. This could be a photo of your family donating your Box of Bounty or participating in any other kind deed along the way. We want to celebrate your family's participation!
