Good Afternoon:
In anticipation of the upcoming break and the many question
we are receiving in Human Resources, I wanted to send out a reminder to
everyone regarding highlights of the current COVID-19 guidance issued by the
New York State Department of Health. I am also attaching my e-mail from March
2, 2022, which contains more comprehensive details of the current Department of
Health guidance. Due to the shortened week, we will not have mandated
testing this week, however, everyone will be able to pick up two (2) COVID
tests from their main office on Thursday at the end of the day.
As a reminder, masks are available in all buildings. A
similar message to the one contained herein will be sent to parents and
families later this week.
Please be sure to familiarize yourself with the COVID
Guidance, should you have questions about testing positive or being a close
contact to a positive individual.
- If you test positive:
- You must request an
Isolation Order from the Department of Health using this link (click on
“Request Isolation Order”): https://www.monroecounty.gov/health-COVID-19.
- Forward your Isolation
Order to Human Resources, and advise of the first date you were absent.
(Human Resources will input any COVID absences into SchoolFront, if
applicable).
- Your period of
isolation begins on either the day you tested positive (if asymptomatic)
or the date of your symptom onset (if symptomatic). That is considered
“Day 0.” Your period of isolation will last through Day 5. (Example:
Symptom onset began April 1 à Your period of Isolation will be through
April 6).
- You may return to work
after Day 5 of your isolation period, and are required to wear a
well-fitting mask in school and in indoor public spaces during Days 6
through 10 after your symptom onset or positive test result. (Example:
Symptom onset was April 1 à Your period of Isolation was April 1 through
April 6. You must wear a well-fitting mask from April 7 through April
11).
- (If you are
moderately-to-severely immunocompromised or if your symptoms are
worsening as of Day 5, please reach out to Human Resources.)
- Utilize your regular
building/department call-in procedures for your absence (example:
contacting your supervisor, submitting to SmartFind, etc.).
- If you are experiencing
COVID-like symptoms (including fever, chills, shortness of breath, sore
throat, loss of taste or smell, headache, cough, nasal congestion, nausea,
vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, muscle or body aches):
- You must report this to
Human Resources.
- You must submit to
Human Resources either a doctor’s note with an alternate diagnosis, or a
negative COVID test to return to work.
- The negative COVID
test must be either: (1) a lab-confirmed test; or (2) a home test with
your name and the test date written on the test card/stick.
- If your test is
negative, you are cleared to return to work.
- If your test is
positive, please refer to #1, above.
- If you have been in
close contact with an individual who tested positive and/or was
symptomatic:
- Exposed or potentially-exposed
individuals, regardless of vaccination status, can remain at work. You
should wear a well-fitting in school and while in indoor public spaces
for 10 days after exposure, and it is recommended that you monitor your
symptoms and undergo COVID testing as a precautionary measure.
- Should you develop
symptoms, please refer to #2, above.
- Should you test
positive, please refer to #1, above.
