Science Day - All You Need to Know

It is that time of the year!  Science Rules!

Teachers- We are delivering NOW your student tags and the presentation descriptions.  In this email you will find:
  • The map which labels the court yards and the library rooms. -> MAP
  • Our goal was for teachers to have 2 sessions off one for planning and one for lunch.  If you are a classroom teacher and you are covering more than 3 sessions please let us know.  Non-classroom teachers you will be be covering 3-5 sessions because you can take the kick off as your planning or the end of the day. Your lunch will be when the kids are eating lunch.
  • Your classroom signup sheet is an ELECTRONIC VERSION see this link.-DO NOT ADD EXTRA STUDENTS TO SESSIONS.  Those numbers have been counted, counted and recounted and we need to make sure that all presenters have people and a reasonable amount of students.-This year you do not need to submit a paper copy to the nurse they can see it electronically that is where you need to fill it out here.
  • Just a reminder your students are eating lunch in your classroom (garbage will be in the hallway) and you will be monitoring them.
  • When you are supervising a room, please remember that many of these presenters are not teachers and do not have training to manage kids so we ask that you help with management and behaviors.
  • Can you please review good auditorium behavior because the kickoff will be the first time we are all together for a presentation.
  • Make sure to look for your name throughout the WHOLE presentation description sheet because you may be scheduled in multiple locations!
We are so excited for this tradition to FINALLY continue.  Thank you for your support please let us know if you have any questions.
-Paige and Cathy

Your students will be traveling all over the school attending different presentations.  Prior to this day, you will receive a document with the presenters, description of the presentations, the locations, and the teacher responsible for supervising that presentation.  You will also get a worksheet on how to organize your students in those presentations and last a sheet for your students (we call it a tag) so they know where to go.  Some teachers make the tag into a necklace so that students do not lose it.

School Supplies for 22-23!

All Hilton students will have their school supplies paid for next year. This was a budget initiative from the district, and as a building we will be receiving a per pupil increase to cover the costs. We will receive 25 per student; however, I did the math from class lists last year and found that, on average, it costs $18 per student when purchased in bulk by us. You will also still get your supply budget line for level cabinets.

Next steps:
  • Do not make a supply list and submit to the office. Just your letter of introduction that goes to students on June 17th (moving up day!) will be due.
  • Paula, Christy or I will be creating and sending a spreadsheet for ordering to your level (next week or early June). Please put in what you need as a level for each teacher.
  • If your level is under the amount allotted, you will get that money to spend on whatever additional needs you have as a level.
  • Paula will be ordering and sorting supplies over the summer and they will be in your classroom by moving up day.
