Behavioral Supports @ QUEST

Last year, there were times where a student would get sent to the office and we weren't able to fully address the teaching that needs to occur with that mistake due to the demands on the main office on any given day. We are a teaching organization, and how we approach student's when they make a mistake should align with that. With that, new this year is our wonderful new colleague, Jamie! It is important to note that there are three reasons a child might see Jamie:

1) A student makes a mistake that results with a trip to the office.

2) The child has a behavioral support plan and, as part of the plan, has a planned break. Or no plan in place but is in distress and could benefit from some breaks throughout the day.

3) The child needs to take a break from the room that is unplanned. Child needs a restart.

It is important to note that in all three scenarios, the visit to Jamie goes through the main office. Jamie is here to support the next step and the teaching, or when the child is serving a consequence.

As always, don't hesitate to come chat if you have any questions as this is a new process and can obviously be different at first. More importantly, thanks for all those things you do proactively to teach positive behavior and to reach the whole child.
